Character Is The Trophy Of Champions!

Posted by MAA Marketing & Communications 11/17/2024

Although we didn’t pull out a win last night, the night was no less memorable for our Minor Mustangs. Often, times we follow the traditional definition of what truly defines success and defeat. Whoever gets the trophy is crowned the champion, right? Last night reminded me that the work of character building happens off the field more often than on it. Coach Meads and his group of dedicated coaches, were the true MVPs yesterday.

I watched coaches moments ago, determined to win, give equal care, comfort and guidance to our young student athletes after a passionate loss. Through compassionate leadership, our coaches turned a defeat into a character-building teachable moment. A true Champion is not defined by victory alone, but by ones ability to stand tall in defeat.

Thank you, Coach Chad Meads, for leading by example. Our student athletes learned a valuable lesson last night; one that could never be learned with trophies and pageantry.  Thank you Midlo Minors for playing hard and standing tall, making it all the way to the CQL Semifinals. Thanks also to Football Directors, Emily & Ryan Parnell for an amazing football season. Lastly, thank you to all of our student athletes, MAA membership and supporters!
